the holidays

the holidays used to be a stressful time for me. but these days, i enjoy the holidays in a different frame of mind than i did as a child.

i became an adult with a sense that the holidays were a time to spend money to make everyone happy. i am now, amazed that i did not see the insanity of that, then.

for years now, my immediate family has refrained from a gift exchange. this allows real, genuine happiness for the holidays and the entire year.
